Aquarium Filtration

In the wild, fish are part of a ecosystem in which there are several cycles taking place at the same time. The fish we have in an aquarium take in food and like us they produce waste products, both solid and liquid. If left alone the waste will produce chemicals that are toxic to fish which may result in their death. Filtration is needed to remove this waste or as we shall see, convert it into less toxic substances. Filtration can be broken down into three types, biological, chemical and mechanical.
