If the principles of TPM were to be applied to British roads then one area that would require attention is roundabouts. The primary function of a roundabout is to allow road traffic to change direction. Every roundabout requires in general that a vehicle slows down when approaching them, even though no other vehicles are present. This results in delayed journey time and an increase in fuel consumption.
